On Friday, July 12th, DigiPen Europe-Bilbao hosted an exhilarating Valorant tournament that brought together the best gamers from the student body. Eager participants arrived an hour early to ensure all systems were go and to fine-tune their setups. The fierce competition, which lasted for many hours, was a testament to the students talent.
The tournament featured 20 participants, who were divided into four teams of five. To accommodate the players and the audience, the event utilized two classrooms and the auditorium. This setup allowed for seamless gameplay and provided spectators with the opportunity to watch the matches live. The games were streamed, giving viewers both on-site and online a chance to experience the intense action.

One of the unique aspects of this tournament was the level of student involvement in its organization. The event was planned and executed by the students, demonstrating their organizational and technical skills. Dani, from the IT department, provided invaluable assistance with the technical aspects, ensuring that everything ran smoothly.
Adding to the professional feel of the tournament, one of the students took on the caster role, providing play-by-play analysis and keeping the audience engaged throughout the matches. Additionally, another student captured the event’s highlights through photography, preserving the memorable moments of the day. Credit to Justyn for the pictures throughout the article.
