Last week, DigiPen Europe-Bilbao transformed into an eerily fun place as we celebrated Halloweek—a four-day event packed with spooky vibes and unforgettable moments.
Organized by the student association, the celebration gave participants a chance to showcase their skills with a range of themed activities, from gaming to team contests.
Monday: Horror Game Night
We kicked off the week with a Horror Game Night, where students confronted their fears in adrenaline-filled sessions of chilling horror games. Laughter and screams filled the air.
Students enjoyed playing and competing in horror titles like Five Nights at Freddy’s. To complete the experience, what is better than piles of popcorn?
Tuesday: Horror Makeup Workshop
Tuesday brought the Halloween spirit alive with a Horror Makeup Workshop. Laura Choueri, BFA professor, guided students in creating eerie, realistic wounds and scars.
Students mixed makeup products to create scary effects on each other, having fun in the process. The results looked impressively realistic, and everyone was thrilled with how they turned out.
Wednesday: Pyjama Wednesday
Midweek brought a cozy twist with Pyjama Wednesday. This DigiPen classic invites all students, staff, and faculty to come to campus in their favorite pyjamas, making it our coziest Halloween yet!
It was fun and relaxing to see everyone in pyjamas, especially when you see staff and students together. Some even brought pillows, slippers, and wigs!
Thursday: Costume Contest
Halloweek’s grand finale was the Costume Contest—a true display of creativity! Participants paraded the hallways, showcasing their unique and intricate creations.
A photo booth captured everyone’s incredible looks—from Willy Wonka and the Oompa Loompas to Beetlejuice Characters!
As everyone gathered to watch, laughter filled the hall when the funniest costumes took the center stage. It was a thrilling competition, and it was clear that our students’ imaginations were in full display.
The winners this year were nothing short of spectacular. Aroa took home the title of “Best Costume” with an impressive Winx outfit, while “Funniest Group” went to the ‘Siwanators’, whose looks about Jojo Siwa had the crowd laughing. For “Best Performance”, the Shrek Characters stole the show with their replicas of the iconic protagonists.
Our students, faculty, and staff did an excellent job organizing the entire week, and it was clear that everyone who participated had a fantastic time. Halloweek is for sure a cherished and thrilling event.
